Hi. This has never happened to us before and we’re not sure if it’s happened to
others – we saw 3 species of Kingfisher while standing in the one spot. Here on
Bribie Island, we were standing beside a fresh-water swamp & waterhole area
when we saw a pr of Azure KFs just 12 metres in front of us. One of these flew
past and behind us – turning around we then noticed a pr of Forest KFs on the
powerline above. Looking up along the road, we saw a single Sacred KF sitting
on another powerline and then it got chased by its mate. We looked around for
the resident Kookaburras to make it a quadrella but it didn’t put in an
appearance.
Cheers
Brian & Meg
