Tasmania's state revenue for 2015-16 is forecast to be about $5.3 billion, including Commonwealth grants. So $45 million over a decade or so (which is something less than one-tenth of one percent of total revenue) to help protect Tasmania's environment and agricultural industries? While I have no idea whether this is a boondoggle, or how effective it is as an agricultural health prevention scheme, it sounds to me as though it could almost be a good deal.
