To all the Australian Birding Community,

I am currently in the process of building a document that is set to record
all of our competitive birding triumphs in a single place. Presently, there
is a lot of information scattered across various birding forums, social
media pages, throughout the Internet and in old lost editions of the bird
related printing. My goal is to combine all this information into an
accessible document online for all to share in.

This text shall include Australian Big Year records, State Big Year Records
and State Big Day records. At the moment, I have bits of information here
and there but nothing to rock solid. So, this is where you all come in!

Please email/call/carry pigeon me any information you have on the topics
mentioned. I will be taking 5-10 results per each category.

Some example texts:

Australia Big Year Records:
1. John Weigel <https://www.facebook.com/john.randall.92798> – 770 species
(IOC) – 2014
2. John Weigel – 745 species (IOC) – 2012

Victorian State Records:
1. Mike Carter <https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100008495313016> –
462 species (IOC)
2. Peter Lansley <https://www.facebook.com/peter.lansley.7> – 450 species
(IOC)

Victorian Bid Day Records:
1. Michael Ramsey <https://www.facebook.com/mickaramsey>, Simon Starr
<https://www.facebook.com/simon.starr.94>, Matt Weeks – 225 species (IOC) –
13 Nov 2011
2. Michael Ramsay, Simon Starr, Matt Weeks – 225 species (IOC) – 18 Nov 2012

Thanks everyone! I think it’s important that this information is documented
somewhere, it’s part of our Australian birding history really!

All the very best,
James Mustafa
