Just heard on Jon Faine's program on ABC-local:After weeks and weeks in which they were guarded by volunteers, a family of young Hooded Plovers have just fledged on Moggs Creek surf-beach, despite the fact that one adult had been taken by a fox. Congratulations to the splendid volunteers who could at least protect the birds from dogs and careless walkers during the day. Now they report that another clutch have hatched at Point Roadnight... Many thanks to the volunteers.
