Semipalmated plover Pelican Point, Carpenters Rocks
At 6am this morning at high tide we had excellent and extended views of
the bird feeding along the shore line. It was located 200 metres west
of the point near a single black rock on the beach near the boat ramp.
Unperturbed by our presence it came within 20 metres of us. When it
eventually flushed it flew off with a small flock of stints in a
westerly direction. We had not been able to find it the previous
evening when the tide was low.
