David, I believe migration is one reason why certain authorities now split
the species into several, Western, Eastern, American, Australian. depending
on the taxonomy they follow. Take a look at the excellent
Avibase<http://avibase.bsc-eoc.org/avibase.jsp>resource and type
Osprey in the 'Search-box' (....but be prepared to be
'baffled')
