JACKY WINTERS are regulars on the fence on the right at the top of Mayfair Rd
Mulgoa, they successfully nested on a branch of a large eucalypt on the
roadside opposite there last year, chasing off any other birds that came close,
including Noisy Miners.
Two were on the fence this morning, flying down for insects on the grass. Also
a single TREE MARTIN, seen last week but otherwise none for at least five
years, among Welcome Swallows over the small grassed paddock behind the fence.
BROWN QUAIL walking across the road. NOISY FRIARBIRDS flying north. A HOBBY in
the Valley last week, and a PACIFIC HERON for a day or two.. Plus another
thirty or so everyday spp in the bush, on the dams and in the Valley itself.
