Hi everyone,

Bruce Greatwich and I have returned to Perth after a 10-day fauna survey in
the interior of the Dampier Peninsula.

Highlights from the local ephemeral lagoon (on private property) included:
Grey Wagtail: 1 on the 16th Oct
Freckled Duck: 25 seen on most days
Eastern Yellow Wagtail: 2 seen on the 20th and 22nd Oct
Comb-crested Jacana: 2 seen on most days

A quick stop at the Clementson St sewage works in Broome produced the
Semipalmated Plover (near its favourite haunt, the cement culvert on the
central western side of the ponds), but no sign of the previously reported
Little Ringed Plover.

Good birding,

Nigel Jackett
