Hi all,
For some funny reason this mail was posted with a several day delay. Not sure
what is going on here.
Anyway, I'd like to take this opportunity to correct the original post:
(1) It was Tura Beach (not Tathra Beach)
(2) It was Mara Roberts (not a man) who found the bird
"On the 13th September 2013 (see Eremaea/Birdline NSW #198976), on Tura Beach
(far south coast of NSW) Mara Roberts noticed a bedraggled penguin lying
amongst the rocks on the shore line. She immediately called WIRES and the
Fiordland Penguin came into care. It had been injured by either another marine
creature or a propeller and has a wound on his chest which is now healing well
(2nd October). [Moderator's note (NH): This is only the fifth in NSW record of
this species and is subject to submission to NSW ORAC]"
Cheers,
Nikolas
