I was there too but I was only concentrating on the Oriental Plovers. Though I 
was the person who spotted AGP years ago, don't take my word for it :).  This 
is a bird in transitioning plumage and often causes confusion.  I do not think 
it has any traces of white rump for Grey.

No chance of it being a USA GP due to the long tertials which finish close 
to tail end and cover the primaries.
