I think they came out in the recent Owls of the World book which was why they
were being discussed (may be wrong). I guess that's why IOC had a look at them,
presumably didn't fancy what they saw!
I haven't seen either of them either :( - so no potential ticks for me and not
really qualified to comment on whether they should be split. Hopefully will see
the Tassie one later in the year though :)

They appeared in at least the proposed splits (if not actual) at one stage and
were subject to some discussion on Birding Aus - but have now vanished. (Don't
care - haven't seen either of them!)
