Interesting birds about the Sunshine Coast include a Masked Owl seen in the
Conondale Range with Luke Bennett and Terry Bennett. The bird was much paler
than one I saw recently at Amamoor, indicating how variable the species can
be.

Also about is a very vocal pair of Pale-vented Bush-hens in my garden. This
species is normally silent at this time of year.
