Thu 23 May Pink-eared Duck Thuringowa Landfill Site, Hervey's Range Road
Brief survey of the small open water dam near the entry gate. Pink-eared Duck (14) a surprising find - pairs were feeding

Thu 23 May Budgerigar Mt. Lewis Road
This bird was seen at Mt. Lewis by Bill Crew of Odyssey Tours and forwarded on to Del Richards. It's likely to be the first such record for the Wet Tropics. Photo clearly shows bird perching on branch with Lichen typical of high altitude rainforest.

Wed 22 May Red-necked Avocet Mungalla Station
8 Red-necked Avocet standing quietly for more than an hour in lagoon shallows this morning.
