Tue 21 May Chestnut-rumped Heathwren Black Hill Conservation Park

Ian Reid and Frank O'Connor

Sat 18 May White-backed Swallow Reeves Plains 1' Cell

Richard Hall

Sat 18 May Brown Honeyeater Amata Community - 26 09S 131 08E 1' Cell
Brown Honeyeater (1) Clamorous, strident call tipped me off to its presence in two large flowering Eucalypts (E. citriodora) in our yard. Was being constantly chased off by a range of 'locals' (White-plumed H/E, Yellow-throated Miner) but continued to return to feed throughout the morning. Calls played from both 'Birds in Backyards' and 'Xeno Canto' put i.d. beyond doubt. Was a little rusty on the call having not seen one in S.A. since late April 2005 in Pipalyatjara, some further 200km's west of here.
David Hartland

Wed 1 May Letter-winged Kite Moomba, North East South Australia
Estimated 40-45 birds, positively counted 39 birds perched, but there were a couple of birds aerial at the time of count. Birds are unfortunately located in an area with strictly no access to the public
Matt Harvey
