Sun 31 Mar Redthroat Gluepot Reserve
Pleasantly surprised to see (and here) 3-4 Redthroats in full song. There were also some White-winged Wrens around. They are listed as vagrant and rare respectively on the Gluepot bird list and there are no Atlas records for the former and only one for the latter.
Mark Stanley

Rufous Bristlebirds (many), Southern Emu Wrens (one small party) and one Beautiful Firetail. Younghusband Peninsula opp Parnka Point
We have been camping at this site most Easter weekends for >10 years: More variety of birdlife this year - Bristlebirds particularly abundant; Emu Wrens in exactly the same location (within metres) to previous years so clearly resident; Beautiful Firetail a first for me at this locaiton. Site on seaward side of the Coorong lagoon - accessed by boat.

Fri 29 Mar Barn Owl 35 43S 139 52E 1' Cell
Barn Owl (1) Small male was injured on the side of the road a few km's south east of Coonalpyn. Stopped and contacted wildlife rescue. Scooped the injured bird in my jacket and dropped it off at a bird rescue place near Tailem Bend - the lady gave it a 50/50 chance of survival - with possible head injuries and was very thin

Red-lored Whistler, Gluepot Gluepot Reserve
A big thank you to Peter Waanders for a wonderful morning at Gluepot. A number of great birds seen with the highlight no doubt the Red-lored Whistler. I highly recommend a day out with Peter!
