Australian Painted Snipe
Lake McIntyre Millicent SA
An Australian Painted Snipe was observed by Angela Jones from bird hide #1in the late afternoon. She called Sheila Boyle who in turn called us (Stewie and Rosey Pounsett). Not having seen this particular species before we rushed to the site eager to get a look at this elusive bird.
He has been at the lake for a few days now and we have been lucky enough to catch glimpses of him each time we have gone out.
