Published sightings for the week ending 30 Dec 2012.

Thu 27 Dec Freckled Duck Leanyer sewage ponds, Darwin
Female or immature male located this morning, on pond immediately beyond pump house. Still present 2pm. No sign of Spotted Whistling Duck or Little Ringed Plover today.

Mon 24 Dec Spotted Whistling Duck Leanyer Sewage Ponds, Darwin
A single Spotted Whistling Duck among thousands of ducks. Second NT record, the first being at the same site 27/12/11 to 12/02/12. Possibly same bird. These are also the only 2 Australian records outside of North Queensland. Nominate race Little Egret (Egretta garzetta garzetta) and Little Ringed Plover also present Access by permit only.

Pair. Also Spinifexbird.

Brown Quail (2) on road edge of grassy verge. Others ca 70 km north of TC.
