Birdline Northern Territory

Published sightings for the week ending 23 Dec 2012.

Sun 16 Dec Hooded Parrot (Psephotus dissimilis) Pine Creek township N.T
Had another quick look for Hooded parrots yesterday at 4:30pm/overcast day (had a spare 15min) at the footy field in Pine Creek...they usually like to feed on white clover looking flowers...the field had been mowed, so none were feeding on the field...i was about to drive off when suddenly three flew in and landed on a fence next to my car, then flew down to the unmowed grass behind my car and continued to feed and communicate.... I allowed my eyes to drink it all in, was hard to drive away, seems to be a reliable spot to find these beauties...i've been observing them in the same spot for the last 3-4 mths... (Have attached an image, not the best one though)
