Hi All

Below is part of an email from the Regional Chief Ranger, NT Parks and
Wildlife regarding the Red Goshawk at Mataranka. If anyone sees any
misbehaviour please contact Jonathon Woods, the senior ranger there.

Denise,

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.
The pair of Red Goshawks is nesting on private property in close proximity
to a public road and have gained a considerable degree of exposure through
the birdwatchers network. The site is easily accessible to all passing to
view one of the rarer species of bird of prey. It is unfortunate that a
relatively small number of individuals have chosen to abuse what we consider
a privilege. The site is well known to the Northern Territory Parks and
Wildlife Commission (NTP&WC) staff who manage the nearby Elsey National Park
and pass this location on an almost daily basis. While trespassing on
private property is something that can only be addressed by the landowner,
it is still an offence under the Territory Parks and Wildlife Act to
interfere with wildlife and Parks and Wildlife staff will continue to
monitor the situation with an increased vigilance.

I Should you require any assistance please do not hesitate to contact
