Birdline Northern Territory

Published sightings for the week ending 24 Jun 2012.

Fri 1 Jun Princess parrots Newhaven
Seeing Princess parrots was always going to be an outstanding experience, but the sight of 80 of these birds was something else. We were struck by their beautiful colors, the outstanding speed and manouverability of their flight, and their curiosity: a flock of around 40 circled us fast and close-in, with one actually stopping in mid-air and hovering in front of us.Many thanks to the Newhaven guides,Peter and Toni, for making this experience possible.
