Greg and all

Makes my flock of about 75 seen on the Gloucester River (southern end of town) Friday 4th May look very paltry!

I noted on Birding-aus (NSW birdline) this morning that David Charley had seen 600-700
Topknot Pigeons near Uralba Nature Reserve and commented that it was the largest
number that he had seen in the area since the early 1990’s. On 26 April Val
and I observed 1000+ Topknot Pigeons crossing the Orara Way at Tallawudjah Creek,
Glenreagh and landing in the fruiting Camphor Laurels. This is probably an
underestimate as I tend to be conservative with my estimates. This is the largest
flock that I have ever seen.
