There was an adult Square-tailed Kite at the Australian Botanic Garden,
Mount Annan (NSW) yesterday, at 12.30 pm. Very good views of the bird
flying low, over and between the trees, for about 5 minutes. This is a new
species for the bird list there.

Also, last Wednesday, 7/3/12, approximately 50 White-throated Needletails on
the Bruxner Highway, c. 2 km east of Lismore (NSW). I drove along this
stretch of road twice, at 8.30am and 9am, and each time many birds were
flying low over the ridge. Conditions were fine, a gentle southerly breeze,
and the birds were heading south, into the breeze.

Richard.
