A single Brown Quail crossed the bicycle track when I was riding around the lake at 1730 this afternoon.

Buff-banded Rail (4) Two juveniles observed with one adult on pond 7. Second adult seen on pond. One Baillon's Crake and an Australian Spotted Crake.

4 Royal Spoonbill and a White-bellied Sea-Eagle (1) Immature were the highlights of an early morning visit to Kellys.

Tue 27 Dec Horsfields Bushlark, Brown Songlark, White-fronted Chat Uriarra Road
Good views of a female Brown Songlark & 2 Horsfields Bushlarks. A flock of approx. 20 White-fronted Chats flew over. Numerous Stubble Quail were heard calling. Also near the crossing was a Peregrine Falcon chasing a Wedge-tailed Eagle

Eastern Whipbird Uriarra East
Bird was in riverbank shrub some 40 meters upstream from a point opposite the toilet block. We watched through binoculars from 15 meters away while it jumped continually from branch to branch and appeared to be watching the birdwatchers. After three minutes it flew across the river and disappeared into scrub. At no time did it call.

A young Buff-banded Rail and a single Baillons Crake foraging together in the reeds on the corner of one of the ponds.

Swamp Harrier seen gliding near Rock Valley Homestead. Night Heron seen at Wetlands Sanctuary. Also seen were a number of White-naped Honeyeaters and a pair of Satin Flycatchers.
