Hi Andrew,

We only had a total of 9 Yellow-nosed Albatross combined on both trips. We had
a close look at all of them. We are certain they all were Indian YNA. I think
that the pearl-grey color is a trick of light. The bird on image 9490 also
doesn't show the upside-down black triangle around the eye that a typical
Atlantic YNA should show. Obviously, from this angle you cannot say much about
the shape of the yellow at the base of the bill, but we did not see any
"blunt-based" ones.

Cheers,

Nikolas

Hi Nikolas,

Some cracking photos there. Image number 9490 (#39 of #83 in the sequence)
caught my eye; the light may be playing tricks on me due to the bird's head-on
approach under cloudy skies, but the head looks pearl-grey, and as such it
appears a possible contender for Atlantic Yellow-nosed Albatross. I don't think
I could claim it on the strength of the photo, but was it considered on the day?

Cheers

Andrew
