Published sightings for the week ending 21 Aug 2011.

Sun 21 Aug Latham's Snipe Dowse Lagoon, Sandgate
Still there this morning - views from the bird hide, thanks to Steve Murray for putting me onto it

Sat 20 Aug Black-bellied Storm Petrels and 3 species of Albatross Southport Pelagic - off the shelf
5 Black-bellied Storm Petrels along with Wilson's yesterday. Young Shy and Black-browed Albatrosses and an adult Yellow-nosed. Good numbers of Wedge-taileds (100s) back along with good numbers of Hutton's Shearwaters and Providence Petrels and a few Gannets. We had to leave the shelf early due to the arrival of 30kt winds!

Latham Snipe, Australian Gannet Buckley's Hole Sandbar, Bribie Island
2 Latham Snipe flushed from Mangroves next to Buckley's Hole and an adult and Juvenile Australian Gannet passed the sandbar.

Rare dark morph known from Asia but not apparently from Australia

One bird seen well from the new bird-hide. The first I've seen here in August.

Wed 17 Aug White-necked Heron Buckley's Hole Conservation Park
Half way down the dirt track leading to the car park, sitting in a tree 10 m off the track.
