Neophemas at Chinchilla

Hi,

I was at Chinchilla recently, and stopped off at the local wet lands.  To my 
delight, on a branch close to the water was a male scarlet chested parrot.  He 
quickly flew off, unfortunately, but I managed to get photos of what I believe  
are a pair of red dumped parrots in the tree on the other side of the creek.

Is this normal to be able to see these birds, or was I particularly lucky?

I just thought I should mention it, in case it is of interest.
