Hi all,
For those who have not heard, a "commic" tern has been present the last few
days at Hillarys Boat Harbour in Perth, and was still showing well this morning
flying around the marina and also perched on a jetty with Crested Terns. The
best area to look for it is from along the southern harbour wall/groyne. Park
near AQWA (the Aquarium of WA) and walk out along the groyne until you reach
the outer harbour - the bird often flies along the rock walls here, and
sometimes rests with the Crested Terns. The bird was first seen on Thursday by
Michael Hancock, then again on Friday morning by Ted & Maureen Cawley, and
subsequently by others on Friday afternoon and this morning. The ID is still
not settled, but Arctic Tern is probably the favourite at this stage
Cheers,
John
