Aus_Birders,

We have just got a new, unusual backyard bird this morning - a Buff-banded
Rail. It was first observed on the lawn about 20 feet away from the backdoor
and eventually made its way up to the backdoor. It was finding plenty of
food including small snails. Plumage was in excellent condition as it was a
good opportunity to study the plumage in detail. We now have had 2 rail and
3 crake species on or adjacent to our property.
