Mon 13 Jun	Restless Flycatcher South Townsville Single bird working the trees in the beer garden of the Victoria Park Hotel, 266 Boundary Street, South Townsville. Ivor Preston
Sun 12 Jun	Baillon's Crake, Pink-eared Duck, Buff-banded Rail, Australian Reed-Warbler, Little Grassbird Pentland Baillon's Crake (15) Conservative estimate - at least 15 Baillon's Crakes feeding in the shallows. Numbers have grown substantially since last month, Peter Valentine reported seeing one solitary Baillon's Crake on Pentland Dam. Pink-eared Duck (1) Solitary bird still here after first report this year, 3 weeks ago Black-shouldered Kite (1) Photographed hovering over Cape Road on the edge of Pentland Dam Buff-banded Rail (1) Surprise sighting near Cemetery Road grid. Australian Reed-Warbler (12) Photographed in most suitable and extensive reed habitat of Pentland Dam Little Grassbird (1) One Surprise sighting 'scoped in reeds about 40metres from Cape Road on Pentland Dam Len & Chris Ezzy
	Wompoo Fruit-Dove, Tree Martin Ross River mouth, Townsville Wompoo Fruit-Dove (2), also Spotted Dove (1) parkland off Hubert St. Tree Martin (1) feeding with swallows in mangroves Ed Pierce
Fri 10 Jun	Australian Bustard Newell Beach [Mossman North QLD ] 2 Birds observed with guest in suger cane fields. I believe very few recordes this close to the beach[ 2 km from beach ] David Crawford and guests [Close-up Birding Adventures]
Thu 9 Jun	Radjah Shelduck [ with 8 young aprox 1 week old ] Aprox 4km North of Mareeba. Very few Breeding records from this area David Crawford [ Close-up Birding Adventures ]
Fri 3 Jun	Fernwren Mossman George Fernwren at the top of the longer walking track at Mossman Gorge. Interesting as most field guides have it as a bird found above c 600m. This bird I estimate was at no more than 250m. I guess it is not unusual for rain forest highland birds to descend during cooler months. S&D reports it as a "not a well-known species" Moderator's note - Lloyd Neilson in his "Birds of Queensland's Wet Tropics & Great Barrier Reef" mentions"...sometimes down to 300 m..."
