Just a reminder to follow up on Nathan's posting last week. Just days left to
put in a submission on the FMG proposal.

Can I make an appeal to anyone who does decide to do a submission?
1. TRY NOT to be tempted to criticise the consultants. The report is
well-enough produced and the consultants are well respected. There are a few
places where the report can, naturally, be questioned. Nothing is ever perfect.
To focus on small problems however, will not make a difference to the outcome.
2. Read the above article and recognise that the issue here is not about the
impact assessment science, it is about how the decision-makers decide to effect
the precautionary principle for a critically endangered species when there is
practically no evidence for an impact assessment.
Because this decision doesn't lie with the developer or the consultants and
because it could test a fundamental objective of Australia's social and
environmental legislation, submissions need to be backed by a peak body. One
can only hope that Birds Australia or any another representative conservation
group has decided to make their position known and properly understood the
implications.
