Sun 13 Mar White-headed Pigeon, Oriental Cuckoo Alligator Creek, Bowling Green NP
Oriental Cuckoo: Uncommon Summer passage migrant (1). White-headed Pigeon: Unexpected at this lowland elevation. Possibly TC Yasi displacements. All 4 seen together (4).

Latham's Snipe Alligator Creek Bowls and Recreation Club grounds
A generally uncommon but widespread non-breeding summer visitor. Good numbers and good views. (11). (attached - ID photo by Len Ezzy

Sun 6 Mar Square-tailed Kite Anderson Park, Townsville
The Square-tailed Kite was low and going through the trees near the main gate, and was being vigorously harassed by the resident pair of Australian Hobby. Circled around for a good 10 minutes, then up and headed west.

Tue 1 Mar Wompoo Fruit-Dove Horseshoe Bay, Magnetic Island
Feeding on red berries on the Alexandra Palm in my garden. Never seen here before. Appeared to be very timid; beautiful colouring.
