Location: the barrage Goolwa
Pacific Golden Plover (Pluvialis fulva) (14) Birds were resting among rocks on
the low water line out from the second pull in spot behind the Barrage. Several
birds were showing spotting on the chest and one was looking quite black. The
water level was very low for the first time this wader season. A large area of
mud was exposed,other waders included 16 Greenshank and 80 Red-necked Stint.

Date: Saturday, February 19, 2011
Location: Racecourse Bay, Port Macdonnell.
Double-banded Plover (Charadrius bicinctus) (1) An early arrival from the
breeding grounds in New Zealand.
Pacific Golden Plover (Pluvialis fulva) (20) Very well camouflaged in the rocks.
Ruddy Turnstone (Arenaria interpres) (16) Moving around feeding.
Fairy Tern (Sterna nereis) (1) One Fairy Tern sitting on his own, near by were
50 Crested Tern.
Grey-tailed Tattler (Heteroscelus brevipes) (3)
Sightings by myself and Merilyn Browne, searching around following a cancelled
Pelagic Trip.
There were also many Red-neck Stins, a few Red-caped Plovers, Common Greenshank
Chestnut Teal and 12 Masked Lapwings on this headland. 2 Gannets seen just out
to sea.
Low tide for good feeding but very windy.

Location: Coorong NP.
Red-necked Stint (Calidris ruficollis) (10000) An estimated 10,000 Red-necked
Stints feeding and noisy around the edge of the lagoon south of the entrance to
Parnka Point.
Red-necked Avocet (Recurvirostra novaehollandiae) (60) Busy feeding and often
in deep water.
Banded Stilt (Cladorhynchus leucocephalus) (100) Many of the Banded Stilts were
juvenile.
An enjoyable sunset experience with Merilyn Browne. So good to see the return
of decent water levels and so many Red-neck Stints. Plenty of Shelducks to be
seen, an emu across the road and Southern Emu Wrens to be heard in the shrubery
beside the road where we parked.

Varied Sittella (Daphoenositta chrysoptera) (1) "Tree creeping" eucalypts about
100 metres down the old Winter track
