Hi all,

A friend and I have just been discussing the best time of month to go owl
prowling. She said that her belief was that dark nights, maybe around the
time of the new moon, were best to find owls. When I have gone out, which is
not often, I have picked a time with clear sky and close to a full moon.

Now, maybe my approach is like the old joke where the best place to look for
a lost coin is under the light where it is easier to see, rather than where
the coin was dropped BUT, is there a consensus out there - a dark night or a
full moon? Or is it like all birdwatching; just a matter of being at the
right place at the right time and hoping that the bird also knows it is the
right place and right time?

cheers

Jenny
