Birdline ACT

Published sightings for the week ending 6 Feb 2011.

Wed 2 Feb White-throated Needletails Holt
1800 hrs looking south from our front porch, I saw White-throated Needletails moving across a patch of blue sky surrounded by storm clouds. I confirmed the species as I watched through binoculars for about 90 seconds until view was obscured by clouds. Conservatively, I estimate the flock to have been in excess of 100.

Tue 1 Feb Little Friarbird Gungahlin Pond
Today and yesterday there were Little Friarbirds calling at the southern end of Gungahlin Pond. Yesterday only one heard but early this morning there were two.
Michael Kingsford
