This bird was in a flock of at least 10 Rainbow Lorikeets with a single
Scaly-breasted Lorikeet in Coast Banksias along Beach Road at Ricketts
Point, Beaumaris in Victoria this afternoon. It appears to be a hybrid
between Rainbow and Scaly-breasted: dull blue head but yellow scaly
plumage on breast and back.
Any ideas appreciated. See blog at http://smissen.blogspot.com/2010/10/lorikeets-and-terns.htmlor larger photograph athttp://2.bp.blogspot.com/_bEZA5xEuRkc/TMgcgB3KZ0I/AAAAAAAAAW8/8GgH_liTxFo/s1600/Lorikeet_hybrid%3f.jpg Also, any opinions on the tern - Arctic or Common?
