Birdline Australia

Published sightings for the week ending 26 Sep 2010.

Wed 22 Sep Princess Parrot Murputja, APY Lands, South Australia
3 birds seen flying low above houses at the base of Mann Range - approx. 8-10 km's from Desert Oak forest where I saw a group of 8 in May this year. Size of birds, pale underside, distinctive tail and contact calls helped to i.d. birds easily. Flying north towards the range - immediate area was searched (behind small hills where they were headed) as I thought the birds were low enough to be looking for a place to land/feed, but no luck with a second sighting.
David Hartland, Rosanne Tobin
