Hi folks
After having to cancel 2 Queensland trips in the past, we plan to head to
South East Queensland 18th-28th October (booked now so fingers crossed).
We will fly to Coolangatta and hire a car for about 10 days, playing it by ear
as far as accommodation goes (it will be outside of Aussie school holidays).
Would make our way from Gold Coast to Hervey Bay or Bundaberg,then back again.
Apart from Fraser Island (and Hervey Bay briefly) which we visited in May
four years ago, much of the trip would be new for us!
Our vehicle won't be 4wd but hoping we can include a little car-based
or 2-man tent camping in addition to cabins or cheaper motels along the way.
I am not a twitcher/ticker as such, photography is more my interest.
Birds/Wildlife, nature, scenery, general sightseeing. We will just miss out on
Bird Week at Oreillys. I would be very appreciative of some itinerary and
accommodation suggestions that will allow us to enjoy some of south east
Queensland's interesting wildlife and nature.
I will check archives, but some current info/suggestions would be great.
