Steve

Great shots of the Redthroat plus the Turquoise Wren, Quailthrush and Hobby
feeding on a kill. Can you please tell the equipment you were using to get
your great photos? How far were you from the Redthroat and what lens were
you using?

Hello all. My brother Bill and I have just completed a whirlwind tour of
South West Queensland, visiting Kilcowera Station ( 2 nights) and Bowra
Station (1 night). It was my first visit to Kilcowera and my fourth to
Bowra. Both are excellent birding destinations and highly recommended. The
highlights of the trip were: seeing Lake Wyara and Lake Bindegolly both full
of water (and birds!); and, finally getting onto a Redthroat at Bowra after
dipping three times. The bonus was getting some decent shots. Don't you love
it when a lifer enhances the experience by posing for photos? As usual, I
have posted a detailed report with photos and lists at
http://aussiebirding.wildiaries.com/trips/10276 The pick of the pics are
the Redthroat shots.

Cheers Steve Murray
