Published sightings for the week ending 1 Aug 2010.

Fri 30 Jul      Yellow-Tailed Black Cockatoo Near Elliott 
Approx. 30-35 birds flying from the Burnie/Somerset coast heading more
or less south along the Murchison Hwy at 2.40pm

Thu 29 Jul      Red-backed Kingfisher Bicheno 
John Alison has provided photos to the Atlas at Birds Australia HO of a
Red-backed Kingfisher he saw at the Lions Park at Bicheno on the east
coast of Tasmania on 10 July 2010. Neither the Atlas nor HANZAB has any
records of the species for Tasmania but the Pizzey & Knight Field Guide
states vagrant to Tasmania.

Sat 24 Jul      Grey Goshawk, Brown Goshawk Queenborough Oval, Sandy Bay
One of each flying over oval within an hour of each other.

Sun 18 Jul      Shining Bronze-Cuckoo Mt Nelson 
First heard at this spot last Sunday. Most probably overwintering. (1).
