Hi all

We are now taking bookings for a second pelagic birding trip to the shelf on Saturday April 17 as the first trip on April 8th has been booked out, If anyone is interested, please let me know by email at the above address or phone 0428337956. We will be using the 55' fast ocean going charter boat Norseman III and targeting cookilarias petrels and storm-petrels. Geoff Jones has kindly underwritten the trip so, subject to weather we will be going. Seats are limited and cost is $150 per person including the supply of shark liver berley.

Close from shore along north eastern Tasmania at present there are many hundreds, probably thousands of albatross, petrels, storm petrels, prions, shearwaters etc., the sea surface temperature is warmer than usual beyond the continental shelf and over the sea mounts. With unusual pelagic sightings turning up in many areas and calm sea conditions off St Helens at this time of year ideal for photography, everything seems conducive for a great trip. This should be a trip not to miss.

Regards

Ian May
