Published sightings for the week ending 4 Apr 2010.

Thu 1 Apr       Square-tailed Kite Samsonvale cemetry 
Single bird flying along shoreline just to North of cemetry. Also Grey
Goshawk at South Pine Bridge

Tue 30 Mar      Black Kite Caboolture 
1 crossing Bruce Highway at river; 1 seen at same place several weeks
ago

        Lewin's Rail Perrin Creek - Beelarong St, Morningside Qld 
Single bird sighted twice in open.

Mon 29 Mar      Sooty Owl Blackall Range, Sunshine Coast 
1 in rainforest gully with 2 pairs of Marbled Frogmouths

Sat 27 Mar      Oriental Cuckoo Upper Lockyer, SE Qld 
Single adult feeding along creek. 
Tom & Marie Tarrant, Mick Atzeni, Brian Coates 

        
        Tahiti Petrels Southport Pelagic 
Approximately 30 seen during the day with up to 10 in view together.
Surprisingly no Pterodromas on the trip - with conditions looking
promising - but it was probably too calm with little wind. Other species
included Wedge-tailed, Flesh-footed, Fluttering and Hutton's
Shearwaters, c.10 Wilson's Storm Petrels, Pom and Arctic Jaegers, and a
Common Noddy 
Rob Morris on the Southport Pelagic organised by Paul Walbridge 

        
        Masked Booby Southport Pelagic 
2 separate birds seen - one bird (see this photo) was a pale eyed
northern form. One appeared to be a dark eyed form from Lord Howe /
Norfolk Island.
