What, like putting a uranium mine in a world heritage area? Short answer is of course it will damage the environment, I imagine assessments will be done to guess how badly and whether they think they can get away with it. Before we throw stones at the New Zealanders though, look at Curtis Island with all those gas refineries going in on world heritage area. And yet it's being heralded as a triumph up here.

strange that the NZ Government would be allowing a mine to be established,
in part, in a national park, at least.
