I remember hearing Barking Owl near Blackbutt in the early 1970s. Other people were there, I think Greg Roberts and Glen Ingram.

In the late 1980s, I saw a single Barking Owl just north of Kenilworth. It was trying to capture a bat which I was recording! I had spent a lot of time looking for Owls in the adjacent Conondale Ranges, and other parts of SE Qld, without encountering the species, so its occurrence there was a complete surprise.

Cheers, Chris Corben.
