Hello again
Unfortunately I was unable to locate the Oriental Plovers today. I
visited the area twice. At 11.00 there were many Banded Plover but
nothing else. At 17.30 on my second visit, 15 Golden Plover were found
roosting among the undulating samphire about 300 metres south of
yesterdays OP site but nothing else to report. I will have another
look tomorrow but it looks like they may have moved on.

The 4 Oriental Plovers were first observed about midday yesterday
apparently feeding amongst a scattered roosting flock of 63 Banded
Plovers. They appeared settled so I returned to the site with my
camera equip and scope about 2.30 pm. Although not noticed earlier, a
flock of sheep were now scattered across the paddock. I searched
thoroughly for more than 1/2 hr but could not relocate the OP's
however the banded plovers had moved a few hundred metres south and
their total numbers were now 87.
<>Although within the same paddock, the habitat at this southern
location is rough undulating sandy ground with lumpy samphire and OP's
would be difficult to locate if they had moved into it.
I intend to return again this morning for another look and will report
the result when I return home to Price this afternoon.
