I was (and am) a volunteer at Healesville Sanctuary at the time the series was
being made.

My memory is not 100% on the matter but I believe there were actually three
birds used in the
David Attenborough Life of Birds.

Chook, a bird that was raised at Healesville Sanctuary but has been at Adelaide
Zoo for some
years now (chainsaw), Nova, the bird that does the camera (with or without
motor drive, I have
heard him do it often) he is still there going strong and a wild bird from
Kinglake.

It's interesting that Healesville Sanctuary received no acknowledgement in the
credits!
