I'd like to add that a few years ago I had the pleasure of spending an
evening with Alan spotlighting in the Yungaburra area, looking for
tree-kangaroos. To my amazement Alan actually waived a fee for his services
on the night, saying that I could show him around my patch of Brisbane some
day. It was completely unexpected. It goes without saying that I found
Alan's gesture incredibly generous and not one I'd ever expect to be
repeated the next time I'm up north. I'll also take the opportunity to
remind him that the offer's always open for me to to return the favour
whenever he's in town.

I found his story quite astonishing, and I hope the ears of the person
concerned are burning.

Best

Andrew
