Good spotting of the King Quail, Phil. However I still have trouble calling
this "Far North Queensland" when for so much of my early life it was "Down
South."
A Black-winged Monarch was seen at Lake Eacham Tourist Village on the 6th &
7th of the month.
Two Wood Sandpipers at 'Kaban Park' north of Ravenshoe on the 13th.
Many Brolga and a few Sarus Cranes at Kaban. Many Sarus and a few Brolga
along with Red-tailed Black Cockatoos west of Walkamin. Not many left on the
inner Tablelands.
Golden Bowerbirds and Tooth-bills putting in extra effort redecorating after
the welcome rain.
Three Dusky Woodswallows north of Hasties Swamp 12th.
40~50 White-throated Needletails Platypus Bend, Malanda on 13th. About 30
birds east of Yungaburra on 12th. Both groups feeding below 40 metres.
