Pied Currawong feeding behaviour

I watched a Pied Currawong in a Canberra park today hopping from dandelion plant to dandelion plant. As it reached each plant it would reach forward, snip the stem off at the base, and then apparently drink the sap from the severed stalk in the centre of the rosette.
