Looking forward to seeing the new Slater, but I wonder has it kept that unique sales feature that survived the last new version- the cover that has two birds that don't actually occur in Australia, i.e. an extinct introduction (Red Bishop) and Common Paradise-Kingfisher ( no accepted record). I was always proud that a major national field guide had this feature that no other country's field guides have! I was also glad the publishers didn't pick a macaw or something in their quest for colourful species.
