Melbourne Zoo have one Mute Swan in the Japanese Garden area. They
probably would not want a bird which had not come from a quarantined area.
Surely if anyone owned a Mute Swan they would know if it went missing?
The aviculturists seem the best bet.
Can it fly or is it pinioned? I gather that the bird is now in
protective custody
Someone told me he had seen white swans on the Yarra at Lower Eltham
Park but I am quite sure that they are white Domestic Geese.

The bird is weak - took an age to walk across a main road - and kids
have been throwing stones at it.
